This song is called “Fawn.” It is the last track on the Tom Waits album “Alice,” and it features the stroh violin.
This is Anita O’Day performing “Sweet Georgia Brown” at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival. My boyfriend showed me this video a few weeks ago, and I really love it.
I got lost on the way to a job interview yesterday, and stopped at a private school that was under construction.
Grizzly Old Construction Worker: Are you from the school board?
Me: Oh, no, I just got lost on my way to a job interview.
GOCW: Are you applying to be a teacher?
Me: Oh! No... haha
GOCW: Well if you was, I'd sho' wish I was back in school again...
A nice thought
I was at the grocery store today, and I paused to look at the flowers out front. And suddenly I thought, wouldn’t it be nice to take some flowers home to my husband? And we could put them in a vase in the kitchen, and make dinner together, and while we’re eating, we’ll tell each other everything that’s on our minds. And then he’ll tell me to come over here, so I’ll come over there, and sit on his lap, and we’ll just kiss for awhile. And then we’ll do the dishes.
